Ok pessoal, aqui vai uma das razões pelas quais ando a falhar nos posts do blog.

Esta é a capa de uma nova publicação que irá apresentar o trabalho feito no The Lisbon Studio, o colectivo de que faço parte há cerca de 2 anos e meio.
Para comemorar a exposição que vamos ter no Festival Internacional de BD de Beja no próximo mês de Maio, iremos lançar esta publicação para dar a conhecer os talentos que o estúdio abriga, colaborações e quem sabe convidados especiais amigos deste espaço de trabalho.

Ok, gang, this is one of the reasons I've been slacking off on my posts in this blog.

This is the cover for the upcoming magazine featuring work done on The Lisbon Studio, the collective I've been a part of for the last 2 and 1/2 years.
To comemorate the exhibition we're holding at the International Comics Festival in Beja next May, we're launching a publication to spotlight the talents the studio houses, collaborations and maybe some special guests, friends of this workspace.

X J - Jean Grey

O esboço de hoje:

Letra J de Jean Grey.

Hoje decidi escolher uma versão juvenil da Marvel Girl, ainda na adolescência, ocupada entre aulas e flirts com um magricelas de óculos na sua turma.

O resultado final não é o melhor, apesar de gostar da ideia, mas isto é um exercício e o trabalho real chama.



Today's sketch:

Letter J for Jean Grey.

Today I went with a young version of Marvel Girl, still in her teens, busy between studies and flirting with a skinny kid in glasses in her class.

The end result didn't turn out very good, even though I like the concept, but this is an exercise and the real work beckons.

X I - Iceman

Letra I de Iceman.

A versão pontiaguda do Bobby Drake. Eu tentei ser engraçado com uma moldura de gelo nos limites da imagem, mas ainda não sei se me saí bem ou não.

The edgy version of Bobby Drake. I tried to be clever with a frosting frame on the edges of the picture, but I'm still not sure if I pulled it off or not.

X G - Gateway

Mais uma 6ª feira, mais um esboço.

Letra G para Gateway, o teleportador aborígene que foi introduzido à série dos X-Men num arco passado na Austrália, há uns aninhos atrás, quando eu adorava tudo o que o Marc Silvestri desenhava.
Mais uma daquelas personagens obscuras que eu sempre quis desenhar.

PS - eu sei que provavelmente devia ter desenhado o Gambit, mas não suporto a personagem, para ser sincero, e como isto é um exercício para me dar gozo, vou pelos meus favoritos sempre que possível. Tough noogies! :)


Another Friday, another sketch.

Letter G for Gateway, the aboriginal teleporter introduced to the X-Men series in an story arc placed in Australia, way back when I worshipped whatever Marc Silvestri drew.
Another one of those obscure characters I always wanted to draw.

PS - I know I probably should've drawn Gambit, but I can stand the character , to be honest, and since this is a fun exercise, I'm choosing favorites when possible. Tough noogies! :)

X F - Fastball Special

Quando eu disse batota, eu queria dizer isto... :)

Letra F, para Fastball Special, com uma Sala do Perigo esboçada ao fundo.
Velhos tempos em que sonhava com uma sessão de treinos na Mansão Xavier.
Se lembrarem do design do Wolverine que eu fiz para o Project Rooftop, ele está de volta aqui.

Bom, de volta ao esquema original.

X E - Emma Frost

O fim de semana prolongado passado na mudança de casa da minha namorada e a desinspiração que me apareceu de repente impossibilitou-me de cumprir a minha palavra de postar dois desenhos na 3ª feira (ontem), por isso, estou agora a tentar compensar o atraso da maneira que posso.

Aqui vai a Letra E para Emma Frost.
A minha versão foi buscar algumas coisas à versão original do John Byrne, e misturou-a com a actualidade dela como membro dos X-Men.

O próximo esboço vai ser uma batota, mas uma batota especial, para tentar fazer esquecer os atrasos.


The extended weekend occupied with my girlfriend's move and the creative funk which suddenly dropped on my lap made it impossible for me to make due on my word to post two drawings on Tuesday (yesterday), so I'm now trying to make up for the delay the best way I can.

Here's Letter E, for Emma Frost.
My version went partillay back to the original John Byrne version, and mixed it with the current X-Men member.

The next sketch will be a cheat, but a special cheat, to try to wipe out the last delay.
